The School of Health and Social Care (HSC) is fundamental to meeting this vision by offering a range of courses from foundation degrees in all aspects of Health and Social Care through courses in health and social care, social welfare and social work to nursing (adult, child and mental health), midwifery, operating department practice, paramedic science. We support students through all stages of their career from undergraduate study, to continuing professional development, postgraduate and doctoral study, as well as through a range of workforce development modules and study days.

The school works closely with practice partners to prepare and develop highly skilled professionals to work in the social welfare and health care sector.

You will join a team of Social Work and Social Welfare lecturers and be engaged in the design, development, delivery and assessment of Social Work education. The primary focus for this role is in the facilitation of all aspects of practice learning. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and to contribute to the wider activities within the Social Work Team. You will need to be a qualified Social Worker and Practice Educator and be registered with the HCPC. You will possess a good undergraduate degree in the specialist area or a related subject and will need to be knowledgeable and skilled in the social work subject areas. You will already have a PhD/doctorate or equivalent professional standing in a relevant subject area or clear commitment to complete PhD within an agreed timeframe.
