This opportunity is within our Digital and Technical Service, which is responsible for the University’s use of digital systems and services that support teaching and learning across our campuses. As part of the cyber security team, you will collaborate with a variety of teams gaining technical knowledge and experience with a wide number of enterprise technologies. On a day-to-day basis you will be undertaking 

  • Security event monitoring, management & incident response
  • Review and act on threat intelligence.
  • Undertake vulnerability management and security reviews.
  • Raise user awareness in all matters of Cyber Security
  • Provide first line technical and user support, covering all aspects of cyber security.
  • Help to identify risks to security posture. 

We are looking for curious and daring individuals with a passion for technology to join us within our Cyber Security Team in the role of Cyber Security Analyst Apprentice. You will earn whilst you learn, on our Digital and Technology Solutions Apprenticeship Degree, with release from your role to attend lectures and study weeks with approximately 80% of time working and 20% studying. 

To be successful in this role you will need an interest in cyber security, have excellent problem-solving skills and good attention to detail. Studying for a degree whilst in full time employment is hard work, you will need a positive professional attitude, good organisational skills and a strong work ethic to achieve your goals. Qualifications requirements are a Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE grade C / 4)  or Functional Skills level 2 or Equivalent In addition your will have 104 UCAS Points from A-levels/BTEC or other qualifications or relevant experience in career.
