About the role 

We currently have two Full Time positions available.

We are looking for highly motivated people to join our friendly team delivering primarily on our undergraduate programmes. We have a well established undergraduate, postgraduate and therapies provision and a quality research profile.

Putting the students first is at the heart of the department, and we focus on providing an excellent student experience through our exciting, innovating and research informed teaching.

We are seeking enthusiastic, flexible and team focused psychologists with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to complement the wider team.  As the post holder will deliver core content on our undergraduate psychology programmes along with supervising research projects relevant experience in Social, Biological or forensic/criminological psychology would be particularly advantageous.

Applicants should have a BPS GBC accredited first degree in Psychology and ideally a PhD in Psychology or be working towards. You should be able to contribute to one or more of the GBC accreditation core areas in Psychology.  

Main Responsibilities 

  • Some recent experience of teaching and assessing in HE is advantageous as is demonstration of engagement with scholarship and/or research (evidenced by recent publications in peer-reviewed journals).
  • Experience of course or module leadership or development would be welcomed, as would evidence of the generation of external income and a teaching qualification (and/or Fellowship of the HEA). 
  • A commitment to work towards a teaching qualification and Fellowship of the HEA will be part of probationary process if you do not already have one.
  • You will report to the Course Director of the undergraduate portfolio and Head of Department as appropriate
