About the role 

As part of Technical Services, The Smart Technology Hub is vital to the delivery of technical knowledge to a diverse range of courses. We are responsible for ensuring that teaching staff and students enjoy the best possible level of access to specialist software, hardware and technical support.

This is where you come in – we are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic Technical Instructor for Immersive Technology. With the skill of Master Chief, resourcefulness of Ellie and determination of Super Mario, you will be responsible for helping our students bring their digital visions to life.

Your primary responsibilities will be supporting the use of range of immersive equipment such as VIVE pro eye, TactSuit haptic vest, hololens 2, 3d scanners and dedicated motion capture stage, helping students overcome software issues and delivering dedicated technical sessions. An expert knowledge in one or more areas is preferred, but training can be provided on site to bring you up to speed with specific practices.

The person sought must have a flexible and innovative approach to supporting the technical service requirements, passionate about emerging technology and developing skills in new areas. The role holder will be required to provide an excellent level of customer service and with the ability to ensure that deadlines are met.
