Staffordshire University is on a journey to become the foremost modern higher education institution in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence, and we are looking for inspirational and effective people to take us to the next stage.

In 2018 we broke in to the World University rankings for the first time and were named as a top 50 UK university by the Guardian. The quality of our student experience has placed us in the top 10 for teaching quality in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and in 2019  we achieved a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

Many of our students come from areas with low rates of participation in higher education and we continually strive to ensure the courses we offer meet the needs of people and employers. We are expanding our non-traditional, flexible study options, particularly in apprenticeships serving the public sector.

You can join us at a time when we begin the next step of our transformation journey. The new £40m Catalyst Building will deliver 6,500 new apprentices in the next decade, boosting both the local and national economy. The development of our offer to new academic areas and geographic locations will see us expand our reach and make an innovative offer to a new generation of students.

We are a university of and for our community: local, national and global. If you share our values and have the skills to deliver our vision, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for two new members to join our Esports team at Staffordshire University Stoke-on-Trent campus.  Staffordshire Business School launched the first Esports degree in Europe in September 2018 and continues to grow.   The university has invested heavily to ensure we have the best facilities for our new students and we have extensive industry contacts.  A large part of your role will be to build our network to ensure our students have access to career opportunities, internships and work placements throughout their course.

Ideally qualified to PHD level or with equivalent professional standing, you will be an experienced academic with a background in Games, Business, Event Management or Esports and will be able to exhibit Staffordshire University values in your ‘brilliant and friendly’ attitude and your ‘curious and daring’ approach to teaching. As well a contributing to the delivery of teaching you will be expected to have strong technical and digital skills and  experience of leading activities to promote your course.

We are happy to consider applications from those looking for fractional roles.
