Staffordshire University is on a journey to become the foremost modern higher education institution in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence, and we are looking for inspirational and effective people to take us to the next stage.

In 2018 we broke in to the World University rankings for the first time and were named as a top 50 UK university by the Guardian. The quality of our student experience has placed us in the top 10 for teaching quality in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and in 2019  we achieved a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

Many of our students come from areas with low rates of participation in higher education and we continually strive to ensure the courses we offer meet the needs of people and employers. We are expanding our non-traditional, flexible study options, particularly in apprenticeships serving the public sector.

You can join us at a time when we begin the next step of our transformation journey. The new £40m Catalyst Building will deliver 6,500new apprentices in the next decade, boosting both the local and national economy. The development of our offer to new academic areas and geographic locations will see us expand our reach and make an innovative offer to a new generation of students.

We are a university of and for our community: local, national and global. If you share our values and have the skills to deliver our vision, we want to hear from you.

Our future is bright, how about yours?

We work in one of the brightest, lightest and most colourful areas of the University, with the most enquiring minds. So, whether it is water play, finger painting or imaginative play, you’ll be at the heart of the nursery, helping to ignite and inspire young and developing minds.

During your journey at Staffordshire University, you’ll be supported by senior practitioners and a friendly management team, who will help and guide, so that you can really get the most out of putting theory into practice.

We are very proud of our nursery at the university, especially as the nursery team have ensured that we are rated as outstanding by Ofsted, ensuring that our little people are in the safest of hands.

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • The ambition to work within an outstanding Early Years setting
  • Be inspired by young minds
  • Not frightened by helping out with grazed knees or bumps
  • Stamina to play all day with our children, we are open from 8am until 6pm
  • Caring, responsive with a willingness to get involved
  • A great story telling voice and willing to sing

We are located opposite Stoke on Trent rail station and there are local stops around the university to all the major connecting bus routes around the city.

If you want to be a part of our bright future and those of the children and parents that we work with, then now is the time to join an outstanding nursery.

This amazing opportunity won’t be around for long and Early Years Educator roles at Staffordshire University are highly sort after.
