About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the University's Web Team, based within the Marketing, Communications, and PR department.  Staffordshire University's Web Team has established itself as a leader in website design and governance. Awarded 'Best Website' in the Heist 2021 Higher Education Marketing, the team strive to offer optimal user experience to help drive the department's marketing and communications objectives. 

As the Web Manager, you will be responsible for the management and continual improvement of the University's website development. You will be a champion for best practice and improved usability, delivering improved conversion of website visitors. The University's website content caters to a range of audiences and you will have the opportunity to build a network of internal and external contacts, to support the governance and performance of the website content.

The successful applicant will have excellent understanding of modern front-end development languages and strong programme and team management skills. They must also have proven experience and proficiency in the area of web and content governance, for a large organisation.

An excellent problem-solver, the post holder will be proactive and flexible - enjoying adapting to an ever-evolving higher education landscape.

The preferred applicant will also possess:

  • Experience of managing a web team 
  • Experience and understanding of working across a varied group of stakeholders
  • Experience and understanding of user-centred design principles
  • Experience of atomic design/UI pattern libraries
