In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework research in Sport and Exercise was rated as being of international quality overall, with 64% of the research considered as either world-leading or internationally excellent.

We work across the region with a number of elite teams and athletes, sporting bodies and health agencies.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Sports Science team to contribute to the BSc Sports Therapy and BSc Strength & Conditioning awards in particular.

The Sports Therapy teaching and treatment facility has been recently expanded and been refurbished as has our strength and conditioning facility. In addition, extensive refurbishment to the sport and exercise physiology laboratories has now created a state of the art suite of sports science laboratories.

The post holder will be expected to take a significant role in the delivery of the BSc Sports Therapy course and to undertake recruitment, supervision and enterprise activity. The successful candidate should complement our enthusiastic and friendly team.

An ability to make a contribution to the employability of students across the department will be welcome, as would a willingness to contribute to other areas of the curriculum, such as research methods, exercise physiology, anatomy and biomechanics.

Applications are sought from team-orientated, flexible individuals with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills.  Applicants should have a first degree in Sports Therapy (accredited by the Society of Sports Therapy or equivalent accrediting body).

Experience of teaching and assessing in HE is desirable.  Also important will be experience with on-line teaching delivery systems (e.g. Blackboard).

Applicants will be expected to be able to demonstrate experience of working within the sports therapy or rehabilitation sectors.

A DBS check is required for this post.
