Staffordshire University is on a journey to become the foremost modern higher education institution in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence, and we are looking for inspirational and effective people to take us to the next stage.

Many of our students come from areas with low rates of participation in higher education and we continually strive to ensure the courses we offer meet the needs of people and employers. We are expanding our non-traditional, flexible study options, particularly in apprenticeships serving the public sector.

You can join us at a time when we begin the next step of our transformation journey. The new £40m Catalyst Building will deliver 6,500 new apprentices in the next decade, boosting both the local and national economy. The development of our offer to new academic areas and geographic locations will see us expand our reach and make an innovative offer to a new generation of students.

We are a university of and for our community: local, national and global. If you share our values and have the skills to deliver our vision, we want to hear from you.

During 2019 we announced the major new partnership to deliver police constable education and training for West Midlands, Staffordshire, West Mercia and Warwickshire police forces. We are currently recruiting to a number of Professional Support roles to join our team to support the delivery of this large policing education programme.

The Online Learning Technologist will support academic staff in the development and use of technology to deliver a high-quality learning and teaching experience which supports the delivery of the Academic Strategy, by providing support, training and technical administration. The post holder will also be expected to support students from across the regional area to ensure they are able to access platforms and materials and offer support and guidance where required.

Due to the nature of the Police programmes, the successful candidate will be required to travel across the West Midlands Region (covering the four police forces – Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Police, West Mercia Police, and Warwickshire Police) in order to deliver material. Therefore, mobility is required for this position.

In return for your dedication we have a competitive benefits package available

  • Competitive incremental rates of Pay
  • Starting from 29 days Annual Leave (depending on job grade) plus 11 days Bank Holiday and Discretionary days
  • Excellent Pension Scheme
  • Access to continued professional and personal development
  • An opportunity to become part of the wider University community
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Discounted Health & Fitness Facilities on site at the Stoke Campus
