About the role 

We are currently seeking an exceptional, future focussed individual to lead the Department of Business and Law, within the School of Justice, Security and Sustainability. Having been newly established in September 2021, this post provides an exciting opportunity to lead the growth of these two interconnected subjects as they respond to significant changes in both academia and the professions.  Working with the School’s Senior Management Team you will develop and implement a strategy that will enable the Department to respond effectively to the emerging needs of industry and stakeholders in terms of graduate employability, CPD, lifelong learning, research, enterprise and innovation.

The successful candidate will have experience of leadership and management in a relevant discipline area, and an in depth understanding of the external policy drivers impacting on Higher Education, with particular reference to either Business or Law. In collaboration with Department staff and senior leaders, you will use business intelligence to make strategic decisions about the future direction of the Department.. Furthermore, you will be an excellent ambassador for Staffordshire University, the School and the Department.
