About the role 

The School of Health and Social Care are looking for an innovative, commercially orientated entrepreneur to join them at this exciting time of significant change. As Director of Business Development and Enterprise you will be an integral part of the School of Health and Social Care leadership team with specific delegated responsibility for the leadership of the Centre for health Innovation.

In October 2021 the School will open a new multi-million-pound Centre for Health Innovation and will be setting out on a 10-year plan to place Staffordshire University at the forefront of Health Technologies and Innovations in the region.

The School is already a significant contributor to the overall social, health and economic wellbeing of the community however the Centre for Health Innovation will mark a step change in the contribution the School will make to the region and the local economy. The focus of the Centre will be to build a digitally enabled healthcare workforce using state of the art technologies such as immersive, AI and simulated learning. To this end the Director of Business and Enterprise will be charged with growing our undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD portfolio. The Centre for Health Innovation will enable the University to nurture and support health technology businesses to thrive and develop and will provide the facilities and infrastructure that new and small enterprises cannot provide initially for themselves. Companies will be encouraged to work with and alongside the Centre for Health Innovation and the School of Health and Social Care and the Director Business and Enterprise will lead this work on engagement with health technology businesses.

The role of Director Business and Enterprise is wide reaching requiring the post holder to have exceptional skills in communication, negotiation, data management and a clear understanding of higher education enabling the post holder to support the School in all aspects of its operations.
