We are seeking a brilliant, friendly, ambitious and inspirational Forensic Practitioner to lead the Advanced Forensic Practitioner Apprenticeship starting in Term 2 2021.

The role would include such activities as:

  • Preparing and delivering teaching and learning activity on the apprenticeship
  • Delivery of clinical skills, theory teaching, personal tutoring, assessment and progress reviews.
  • Enhancement of the student experience and facilitating ongoing course evaluation and development.
  • Engaging with and developing innovative and effective teaching methods to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Contributing to student recruitment and ongoing promotion of the course.

The successful applicant will have experience of working as a Forensic practitioner who is working at an advanced level, with extensive experience in undertaking forensic examinations autonomously, within either a custody or sexual offence environment and will be very familiar with the requirements of this role. It is also expected that the applicant will have experience of mentoring students\new members of staff. Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential. Formal teaching experience in higher education is preferred but is not essential for the Lecturer (Grade 7) post.

The School of Health & Social Care’s ambition is to ensure that we develop the safest practitioners in the sector. To this end patient safety and simulation-based education is a key strand of our work and we would particularly welcome applicants with a passion for patient safety and simulation.  Teaching will be delivered at both the Stoke campus and Stafford campus.

Applicants must possess a PhD or equivalent professional standing in a relevant subject area, together with current live registration on the appropriate part of the NMC or HCPC register.
