Staffordshire University is on a journey to become the foremost modern higher education institution in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence, and we are looking for inspirational and effective people to take us to the next stage.

In 2018 we broke in to the World University rankings for the first time and were named as a top 50 UK university by the Guardian. The quality of our student experience has placed us in the top 10 for teaching quality in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and in 2019  we achieved a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

Many of our students come from areas with low rates of participation in higher education and we continually strive to ensure the courses we offer meet the needs of people and employers. We are expanding our non-traditional, flexible study options, particularly in apprenticeships serving the public sector.

You can join us at a time when we begin the next step of our transformation journey. The new £40m Catalyst Building will deliver 6,500 new apprentices in the next decade, boosting both the local and national economy. The development of our offer to new academic areas and geographic locations will see us expand our reach and make an innovative offer to a new generation of students.

We are a university of and for our community: local, national and global. If you share our values and have the skills to deliver our vision, we want to hear from you.

At Staffordshire University, our vision is to be a great regional university connected to businesses, industry and health care providers and to our local communities working with schools, colleges and partner organisations to continue to raise aspirations, improve progression into higher education and to contribute to the health, social and economic development.

We support students through all stages of their career from undergraduate study, to continuing professional development, postgraduate and doctoral study, as well as through a range of workforce development modules and study days.

The Department of Midwifery and Allied Health is seeking to appoint a Work-Based Education Officer to support learners undertaking higher and degree apprenticeships in Perioperative Care and Operating Department Practice. The successful individual will work within the team undertaking tripartite reviews with apprentices and their employers and supporting practice learning opportunities generally. The post is offered on full-time basis, fixed term for two years.

The post holder will play a key role in monitoring the progress and assessment of learners in meetings and evidencing the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours outlined in the relevant apprenticeship standards and other work-based education.

The successful individual should be a team player, self-motivated with a positive and flexible attitude to work and possess excellent organisational and communication skills and must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
