Staffordshire University is a leading university for the delivery of the BSc (Hons) Midwifery Practice course. The Centres of Excellence in Healthcare Education at Stafford and Shrewsbury have dedicated midwifery skills laboratories and superb student facilities to enhance the commitment to academic excellence and the facilitation of student learning.  

We are currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to join the established teaching team in supporting and facilitating learners through their study to become registered midwife. This is a full time, permanent position. 

The post holder will be based at The Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Education, Blackheath Lane Campus, Stafford, although travel to the Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Education, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Shrewsbury will be expected. Travel to the University Stoke Campus will be also be expected on occasions.

The role will involve preparation and delivery of teaching on various aspects of the BSc (Hons) Midwifery Practice course and the successful applicant will demonstrate excellent knowledge and skill in midwifery practice, will work well within a team and will possess excellent communication skills. Familiarity with the midwifery undergraduate course would be beneficial and formal teaching experience is preferred but is not essential, although applicants who do not hold a teaching qualification would be expected to work towards one. 

Applicants must hold a relevant professional degree qualification and registration with the NMC is essential.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
