Are you looking for the next step in building your career as a fundraiser and making a significant impact transforming the lives of students? 

Staffordshire University are seeking a personable, tenacious and confident Development Officer to join a small, high-performing Development and Alumni Relations team and significantly increase philanthropic income by ensuring fundraising activity is insight and data-led. 

Reporting to the Head of Development and Alumni Relations, you will play a key role in generating philanthropic support for various fundraising priorities and projects. You will manage your own prospect pipeline, moving warm prospects through cultivation to solicitation to secure regular and mid-level gift targets. 

Working to agreed income and activity targets, you will devise and implement strategies for engaging with prospects and donors and will take responsibility for stewardship.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone working in the charity or higher education sector.

Skills and Experience 

You will hold a good first degree or equivalent skill level and have proven fundraising experience. Have a thorough understanding of fundraising in the higher education sector and be passionate about data and research, recognising the value it delivers. You will possess exemplary people and relationship-management skills and be an accomplished all-round communicator. You will have a strong level of digital skills to include Microsoft Office packages and CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge). You will be able to prioritise effectively and work efficiently to an exceptionally high standard on your own initiative. You will be self-motivated, a positive thinker with a ‘can do’ attitude, a sense of purpose and the drive to achieve agreed goals with a commitment to deliver a high-quality student and stakeholder experience.

As this post requires you to interact with a range of key internal and external stakeholders, often at the highest level, you must be professional, confident and courteous at all times, with the ability to make connections between people and places, individuals and ideas.
