Staffordshire University (Stoke on Trent campus) has an exciting award portfolio that includes Computer Science, Cyber, AI, and Big Data/Analytics courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, each has a key focus on practical scholarship, research, industry relevance and employability.
The university is keen to appoint enthusiastic individuals who will contribute to academic development in the area of computer science through both teaching and research activity. It is expected that you would have a record of research in the area through grants and completed PhD supervision. You would be expected to have worked in delivering subjects to on-campus students, and distance learners. In addition, it is essential that you have a willingness to develop your practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding of the following areas of Computer Science - to include Cyber, AI, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Programming, Digital Transformation, Cloud Computing, and Algorithm Design. The team of staff you would be joining teach and support the delivery of modules with both a practical and theoretical focus.
You will be student focused, team-oriented and flexible with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills. Recent experience of teaching and assessing in HE in either face to face or distance learning mode is essential, as is experience of module leadership and development.
You should be familiar with the development of CPD and be able to lead on pedagogical developments and best practice in computing education.
