This Post-doctoral Research Associate in Organic Photovoltaic Technology will be based at Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent campus. This project is funded by British council under Newton institutional link initiative. This post is designed to provide technical support to the project team in design and implementation of large scale OPV devices/maintain contact with our partners in Alexandria university to ensure successful completion of this project and instigate future collaborations.  

Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Physics, Solar energy materials, Photovoltaic technology, Organic/Polymer material synthesis and related discipline. Experience in project management is also essential.

This post sits in Thin films laboratory within the department of Engineering. 

Thin films laboratory is located in the science centre in Stoke-on-Trent campus and is equipped with most up to date modern facilities. The current facilities include,

  • Glove box

  • Auto 306 and 500 resistive coating

  • Dc, RF sputtering coating

  • Spin coater

  • Spray pyrolysis

  • AFM

  • Raman/PL

  • XRD

  • NMR

  • IR Spectroscopy

  • Surface profiler

  • External quantum efficiency

  • Scanning Electron microscope.

  • IV/CV measurements

The successful candidate is expected to be proficient in operating the above equipment.
