About the role 

During the last few years, Staffordshire University have embarked on an ambitious and unique transformation in the Higher Education Sector where we strive to become the UK’s leading Digital University. We are putting in real changes to our environment, changes which companies like Microsoft are talking about on a global stage.

If you’re ready to make a difference to our Higher Education environment, be ambitious, brilliant and innovative, we think our Platform Analyst role with Staffordshire University is the way forward. Working within the Platform Team you will be directly involved in building our Digital Vision as well as growing your own skills, knowledge and experience. You will be responsible for supporting the technologies and services that underpin the productivity of all our staff and students.  

The pace of digital transformation is still accelerating and ever present within our digital platforms. You'll need to embrace change, be enthusiastic and creative, and have a good understanding of one or more of the following:  

  • Modern desktop and mobile device management (Windows 10/11. Mac OS, iOS, Android, SCCM, Intune, Jamf Cloud, Group Policy)
  • Application packaging and deployment, software licensing
  • Identity management (Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft Identity Manager, Azure AD Connect, SQL)
  • Authentication services (Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth, RADIUS)
  • Office 365 administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, M365 Apps for Enterprise, Cloud Services
  • PowerShell scripting, DB Admin
  • Web and print services (IIS, Papercut, NGINX, Apache, MySQL)
  • Security best practices (SSL certificates, Patch Management, Anti-Virus, BitLocker, Group Policy)
