As a Guardian Top 50 UK University, Staffordshire University is on a journey to become the foremost modern higher education institution in the UK, with an international reputation for excellence, and we are looking for inspirational and effective people to take us to the next stage.

We have recently achieved a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework, and the quality of our student experience has placed us in the top 10 for teaching quality in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 and 2019. We also broke into the World University rankings for the first time in 2018, so this is an exciting time to join the organisation.

Many of our students come from areas with low rates of participation in higher education and we continually strive to ensure the courses we offer meet the needs of people and employers.

You can join us at a time when we begin the next step of our transformation journey. The new £40m Catalyst Building will deliver 6,500 new degree apprentices in the next decade, boosting both the local and national economy. The development of our offer to new academic areas and geographic locations will see us expand our reach and make an innovative offer to a new generation of students.

The School of Computing and Digital Technologies is currently recruiting for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computer Science. In this key role you will contribute to the development and delivery of the academic provision to undergraduate and postgraduate students in subjects of software engineering, programming, databases, and big data analytics. As a School we are also developing our apprenticeship portfolio and you would be expected to take a lead role helping to develop this.

You will have the ability to deliver an excellent student experience through creative and innovative learning, and a commitment to pastoral care.

Starting salary will depend on your qualifications and experience but for the Senior Lecturer role you must have significant experience of managing, leading and developing courses, supervision of research projects and knowledge of academic quality assurance processes. You must also be a member of the HE Academy or hold an equivalent teaching qualification.
