Staffordshire University is a leading Games University in the UK, with an exciting portfolio of courses, which comprise of a range of highly successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes delivered on-campus

It is the home of the UK’s Epic Games Centre and the university has won national awards for educational initiatives with the Games Industry.

The area of Games Concept Art has seen a rapid expansion, so we are looking to fill two posts with enthusiastic, positive candidates with a “can do attitude” to join the exciting and successful Department of Games and Visual Effects, within The School of Computing and Digital Technologies. 

We are looking for experienced candidates in Games Concept Art who have demonstrable excellence in

  • Conceptualizing and illustrating assets including environments, characters and vehicles
  • Understanding of form and function
  • Lighting and atmospherics
  • Matte Painting using Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush and other 3D/2D applications

We are also looking for someone who possesses or is willing to develop an awareness of games art pipelines, significantly how concept art fits in to the wider games art process such as producing model sheets and blueprints.

Candidates for this job must have extensive Industry Experience or a PhD in a related subject.
