The Department of Computing at Staffordshire University has an exciting award portfolio comprising a range of highly successful undergraduate and postgraduate programmes delivered on-campus, at overseas partners, and via distance learning, all with a key focus on practical scholarship, industry relevance and employability.

The Department is keen to appoint an enthusiastic individual who will contribute to academic development in the area of computer games programming. It is expected that you would have a record of research in the area of computer games (or be building one) and have the potential to develop academic and research leadership in these areas. You would be expected to engage with enterprise activity and support/lead on research bids. In addition, it is essential that you have a willingness to develop your practical and theoretical understanding of key programming concepts as and when required (e.g. C++17, .NET core 1).

The team of staff you would be joining teach and support the delivery of modules with both a practical and theoretical focus. You would be expected to develop and lead on many aspects of computer games design, implementation and evaluation.

You will be student focused, team-orientated and flexible with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills.  You will have a first degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and possess, or be nearing completion, of a related postgraduate degree. Recent experience of teaching and assessing in HE in either face to face or distance learning mode is desirable, as is experience of module leadership and development.
