About the role 

Be part of an exciting, new and significant learning and teaching development at Staffordshire University! As part of the University’s continued commitment to an exceptional, innovative and forward-looking teaching, learning and student experience, we are further enhancing our expertise in pedagogic practice, developing a key role as the Head of Digital Pedagogies.

Staffordshire University is established as a digital leader in the HE sector, using advanced technologies to support all aspects of the student journey. The University has a 2030 academic strategy which will take the University further forward in digital pedagogies, moving at pace to simulation and immersive learning and authentic assessment.

To support our academic teams to design and deliver new pedagogies in new learning spaces, the Head of Digital pedagogies will work with academics, Estates and Digital Services to deliver our newly emerging digital portfolios. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the milestones on the road to achieving our 2030 academic vision.

Applications are sought from very enthusiastic, team-orientated, flexible individuals with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills, who are agile and can work at pace.  Applicants must have a degree in a relevant academic discipline and a strong track record of working with academic teams and digital services to support digital transformation and the embedding of new pedagogies in an HE context. 

Excellent recent experience of leading digital learning transformation in HE and working with academic course designers is essential. Demonstration of engagement with scholarship and/or research (evidenced by successful grant applications, recent publications in peer reviewed journals, book chapters, conference presentations etc.) is desirable. Experience of developing policy and guidance in response to relevant HE sector regulators would be welcomed, as would a teaching qualification (and/or Fellowship of AdvanceHE).
