We are excited to be searching for our inaugural Head of Department for the Institute of Policing and Justice.  Following an internal reorganisation, we are looking for an experienced academic leader to take the newly composed Institute to further success.  Comprised of a number of portfolio areas which include a large policing apprenticeship provision, as well as professional policing programmes and a Criminology and Law provision, the Institute has embarked upon an exciting programme of portfolio development, including the roll-out of provision at our London campus.

The successful candidate will work as one of five Heads of Department in the School of Health, Education, Policing and Sciences, reporting directly to the Executive Dean and with responsibility for Course Directors, Professors, Associate Professors, Lecturers and Senior Lecturers.  As well as a strong track record of academic leadership, they will need to be able to evidence their ability to work successfully with external stakeholders such as the Police Force, Employer Partners and other key influencers in order to sustain and grow the business.  Excellent knowledge of regulatory body requirements, particularly OFSTED, will be essential.
