The School of Life Sciences and Education has been providing high calibre education with full time and part time courses offered at undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and doctoral levels which are delivered flexibly to enable students to continue their education at the same time as working.

Our Department of Education at Staffordshire University is producing the professionals of the future.  The Department is recognised as a ‘Good’ provider by OFSTED and ranked 22nd in the 2019 Guardian University subject league table for the high quality of our work. Our Department of Biological Sciences Department offers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses and is ranked 12th the 2019 Guardian League Table.

We are keen to play our part in the university’s commitment to the design and delivery of new apprenticeships that will meet the needs of 21st Century employers. We also intend to expand our range of apprenticeships across the other departments within the School over the forthcoming years. 

This is an exciting stage in the development of our apprenticeship provision, and work has already begun on the siting of a new, state-of-the-art Apprenticeship and Skills Hub, which is set to open in 2020.

The new Work-Based Education Officer role will be the key role for monitoring and progress assessment of learners, undertaking apprenticeship programmes within the School of Life Sciences and Education in meeting and evidencing the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours outlined in the relevant apprenticeship standard and other work-based education.

Additionally, you should have vocational experience of assessing qualifications including compiling learner portfolios, delivering and assessing management qualifications. Knowledge of working with relevant professional bodies will be added benefit.
