Applications are invited from enthusiastic Psychologists to join our team and to take up an exciting opportunity to lead the research component of our Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and become part of the wider research programme of the School of Life Sciences and Education

The Staffordshire University Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is delivered in partnership with local clinical psychologists in Shropshire and Staffordshire.  The Programme lies within the School of Life Sciences and Education at Staffordshire University and is based in the Science Centre. 

The over-arching framework for the programme is the impact of Society and Context on psychological well-being.  There is an emphasis on prevention, early intervention, innovative practice, and the importance of delivering psychological services to people who are ‘hard to reach’.  Our service user and carer group has an important role in contributing to and influencing on the programme.

The Research Director will be responsible reflecting these values in the strategic development, design and delivery of research element of the programme

The post holder will also contribute to the delivery of other areas, to ensure good synchronisation between the three major strands of training – academic, clinical and research.

Successful applicants will be experienced researchers with a strong track record and thorough understanding of research in applied health related settings.  A track record of publication and innovative dissemination of research is essential. Possessing good communication and IT skills and excellent interpersonal skills, you should be a committed and enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach. Previous employment on a clinical psychology training programme, and qualification as a professional psychologist would be advantageous.

Programme staff are employed by Staffordshire University and are responsible to the Programme Director.  The post is fractional working up to 4 days per week.   

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
