About the role 

We are seeking a brilliant, friendly, ambitious and inspirational person to join the Policing team in the Department of Criminology, Policing and Forensic Science as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (dependent on experience) in Policing. We are seeking someone with an investigative background, which could be related to police investigations or investigations conducted by any other investigative agency or organisation.

We deliver two very successful traditional undergraduate courses: BSc (Hons) Professional Policing (our College of Policing accredited pre-join degree) and BSc (Hons) Policing and Criminal Investigation. Increasingly the Police engage with partner agencies on criminal investigations, so we are extending the scope of the BSc (Hons) Policing and Criminal Investigation to reflect the growing complexity of multi-agency investigations. Applicants will therefore have knowledge and experience of conducting investigations. Ideally, applicants will also be able to evidence knowledge of, and involvement in, digital aspects of investigations and have a broad awareness of cybercrime.  

The successful applicant will work well within a team and will possess excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will be expected to work towards a teaching qualification.
