A vacancy has arisen within HR&OD for an exciting opportunity to join our Payroll team at Staffordshire University. We are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager to work as part of a proactive team, managing the delivery of the function to ensure a high quality payroll and pensions service is delivered across the University.

Our Payroll team is part of HR & OD at the University, and on average we pay 3,500 records on a monthly basis. Managing a team of three, you will be responsible for the smooth transaction of the payroll and pension function, ensuring a timely, accurate and customer focused service which complies with statutory legislation and internal policies and processes.  You will play a leading role in improving processes and maximising efficiencies of the payroll function. 

To be successful in this position you will need broad experience in a similar role and have ideally worked within the higher education sector, with experience of operating the NGA Resourcelink system. You will also have excellent communication skills, strong UK Payroll legislation knowledge and experience of assessing and operating employment status.

Your knowledge of all aspects of pay and pension related matters will ensure you can act as the subject matter expert for colleagues and across the University, interpreting and reconciling complex financial data using your strong analytical skills
