Who is Staffordshire University?

Staffordshire University is an award-winning institution with over 100 years’ experience in delivering excellent higher education. Our main Stoke-on-Trent campus is located in the heart of the UK, with Centres of Excellence located in the towns of Stafford and Shrewsbury.

After a highly successful year in 2019, which included entering THE World University rankings for the first time, securing TEF Gold, and climbing in all the league tables, our University has constantly expanded its physical presence through new and industry-leading building developments and facilities. Looking towards our 2030 strategy, we are now transforming specific business processes to improve the student experience and integrate a wider feeling of inclusion and safety for our on-campus community.

About the role

We are looking to recruit 2 Full Time Innovation and Enterprise Fellows to work within our School of Digital Technologies and Arts. These roles are partly funded by the European Regional Development fund, delivering activities within the Staffordshire Connected and Intelligent Mobility Innovation Accelerator (SCIMIA) project. The roles will involve working with SMEs and academic colleagues to evaluate R&D challenges and deliver innovation projects for intelligent mobility sectors, industries and markets

Each Innovation and Enterprise Fellow is expected to focus on the development of use cases and solutions led by different specialisms such as artificial intelligence/data analytics or engineering, and work across a number of industries and technologies including internet of things, logistics, supply chain, health, advanced manufacturing and materials, communications, 5G, sensors and control systems, driverless technologies, electric vehicles, and smart and secure infrastructure.

There are two 1.0 FTE roles to be recruited. One Innovation and Enterprise Fellow will have a more engineering focus on Intelligent Mobility and one Innovation and Enterprise Fellow will have a more data analytics/artificial intelligence focus in Intelligent Mobility.
