A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a three-way project between a graduate, a business and a university. Graduates are recruited to undertake strategic projects within the company, whilst being supported by a dedicated academic supervisor.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging and varied role at Stormking Plastics based in Tamworth. The successful candidate will project manage a two-year KTP to develop a PLC machine control, distributed network management platform applying principles of Industry 4.0 and predictive data analysis. You will be responsible for the full stack of the development cycle including embedded software development.

As an enthusiastic and driven person you will not be intimidated by a busy working schedule and:

  • Hold a 2.1 or above in Computer Science or a similar subject
  • Have a demonstrable experience of full stack development of Microsoft based web technologies (ASP.NET, MVC, T-SQL, MSSQL, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Have an understanding of Real time and Safety Critical systems applied in conjunction with a distributed network of hardware/software devices (IoT)
  • Have experience of integrating hardware devices (IoT, RFID readers) into server-based web applications.
  • A capacity for project and resource management and an ability to interact with and engage personal from a wide range of capabilities to the benefit of the project.
