This role is key to ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance across our internal and external environments, supporting a safe, welcoming, and professional campus for students, staff, and visitors.</span></p><h3><span style="font-size: 18px;">Key Responsibilities</span></h3><ul><li style="font-size: 18px;">Lead and manage the University&rsquo;s cleaning team using the Enterprise Service Management system (Solve), ensuring high performance and adherence to University standards and specifications.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Develop, implement, and manage annual, quarterly, and monthly deep cleaning programmes, taking account of building usage patterns to maintain premium standards of cleanliness.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Produce cleaning specifications, contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for both internal teams and external suppliers.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Lead and support the supervisory team in managing staff performance, including proactive absence management and performance development reviews.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Ensure all staff are appropriately trained, competent, and up to date with the latest cleaning processes and techniques.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Ensure supervisors maintain robust risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Manage cleaning materials, consumables, and stock, maintaining an accurate asset register of equipment along with a planned replacement schedule.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Work in full compliance with health and safety legislation, including statutory obligations and best practice requirements, with particular attention to the safe handling and storage of chemicals.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Support the wider Facilities team, when required, across internal and external University areas, in line with required standards and specifications.</li></ul><h3><span style="font-size: 18px;">What We&rsquo;re Looking For</span></h3><ul><li style="font-size: 18px;">Proven experience managing cleaning or facilities services in a complex environment</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Strong leadership and people management skills</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Excellent understanding of health and safety compliance and best practice</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams</li></ul><div id="isPasted" style="font-family:'Segoe UI';font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:400;line-height:20px;"><h3><span style="font-size: 18px;">Qualifications</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 18px;">To be successful in this role, you will have:</span></p><ul><li style="font-size: 18px;">A relevant qualification Supervisory or Management, or equivalent substantial experience.</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">A relevant Health and Safety qualification.</li></ul><h3><span style="font-size: 18px;">Experience and Knowledge</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 18px;">You will be able to demonstrate:</span></p><ul><li style="font-size: 18px;">Extensive, proven experience leading the successful delivery of a cleaning service</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Experience managing performance at both individual and operational levels, including developing, monitoring, and reporting on service KPIs using relevant performance management tools</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Evidence of developing and implementing effective strategies that drive service improvement, supported by measurable performance criteria</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Strong working knowledge of the legal compliance framework for cleaning services, particularly Health &amp; Safety and environmental legislation</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">Experience ensuring risk assessments are completed and safe systems of work are in place</li><li style="font-size: 18px;">A good level of digital skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</li></ul><p><span style="font-size: 18px;">Applicants are asked to submit CV&#39;s.</span></p></div></div>
